Cross-Legged @ Kota Damansara

Cute name for a cafe with a certain charm; no worries though, chairs & couches are available, so customers with less-than-flexible limbs need not remain cross-legged here.

Cross-Legged's selection is cheap & cheerful. Start with soup, preferably this one made creamy with broccoli & satisfying with shrimp. A reasonable RM10 per serving.

French Toast (RM10) with titillating twists, thanks to a beaten-egg-white fluffiness that makes this taste more like souffle than bread, served with chicken sausage, tomatoes, maple syrup & fresh lemon drops.

Salmon & veggie quiches are also offered on the not-too-wide savories menu.

House-made desserts like chocolate cookie stacks are probably the bigger attraction at this family-run cafe.

This steamed pumpkin-&-cranberry cake (RM5) is really enjoyable, served warm & fresh with a thick pumpkin puree.

Quirky but cool: An ice-blended mix of bananas & Nutella.

Our favorite icy treat for the current weather: Earl Grey orange mint jelly. Fabulous.

Aussie beans are used for Cross-Legged's coffee. Not bad, but not the highlight.

Hot chocolate with chili, fine-tuned to the perfect level of tongue-tingling spiciness to complement the beverage's creamy cocoa flavor.

We were here on a Sunday evening. It's a real oasis of calm at that time.
