Le Bouchon @ Changkat Bukit Bintang

The service might get snooty sometimes and the food isn't always up to expectations, but Le Bouchon is still the place to go to for authentic French fare amid a charming ambience.

We kicked off a light supper with one of the unhealthiest salads ever: lettuce with goose liver terrine, smoked duck and gizzard confit lashed with Cognac sultana vinaigrette. All the ingredients were top-notch, combining perfectly for a medley of decadent flavours.

Pan-fried foie gras with caramelized apples flambeed with Calvados. A classic dish that nevertheless failed to thrill us. Capably prepared, but the liver tasted too metallic.

Lobster ravioles with gratinated zucchini & saffron sauce with chives. A treat for the senses. Gorgeously presented, with a heady aroma of saffron that hit us before we even ate it.
